Our aim is to raise awareness to other students about the hunger of refugees in Darfur with the purpose of directing our classmates to help people who are in need and to raise a voice against the governments who are not helping this cause. We would also like to raise some money through fundraisers to donate to the World Food Programme, which will feed hungry refugees in Darfur.
Our Message...
We need to raise awareness about this issue because the more people that know about the more likely it is that they will help and the issue will become smaller and less bigger. Also, if start to educate people that are in their teenage years, the more likely it is that they will join the cause when they are older. In addition to this last reason, teenagers are also very persuasive and it is more likely that their voice will be heard in the governments of many rich countries.
Our Short-term Goal
We would like to hold a fundraiser in which we sell candy (ice breakers, wonka fun dip, and nerds rope). We are going to donate all the earnings to the World Food Programme to provide food in Darfur to refugees.
Our Long-term Goal
Our long-term goal is to continue to raise awareness about the cause and to continue to support the cause through the rest of our lives. We would like to put articles in ParentTalk to raise awareness in both SAS campuses. We also hope that everyone supports the cause in some way. If not, we will continue to convince people to do so. We will also continue to support the end of poverty for the rest of our lives.
